The sludgy psychedelia of FAT WHITE FAMILY
Casbah SD, 5-14-15
Saul, from FAT WHITE FAMILY, a rather psychedelia-ish band from London, England, is seen here in the lawn jockey patio tonight 5/15/15, 11:50 p.m. at The Casbah in San Diego with a nice sexy wench (who turned out to be Alix Brown, NYC DJ originally from Atlanta and wife of the band’s lead singer) after his band’s show. I like the way some hand, probably his (or, actually, maybe hers), is holding back the brim of her hat so you can see her pretty face…
I told him I had seen a video of the band on youtube where they performed their song “Hot Wet Beef” to a packed club in Brooklyn and the crowd was all jumping up and down in unison. “How did that compare to tonight’s crowd?,” I asked. He kind of shrugged. “I can only see the first four rows,” he said, smiling.
I asked him about San Diego and he said he hadn’t seen it. I said I needed a quote. “What about the Casbah? What did you think of te crowd here?” I asked. People were gathered around vying for his attention. “Oh,” he said, put on the spot, “it’s cool — quote me on that: ‘it’s cool’.”
